Pros
The residents are fighters and amazing, each individual is a true blessing to work with. The building is very nice, a lot of improvements to the architecture.
Cons
There is either a new Administrator or DON on average, every 6mo to a year. The communication between floor nurses and management is null. When floor nurses try to make a suggestion the idea, if good, is often "stolen" by management. There are double standards, too many to mention. "Don't use cell phones in the building" however if you hold a managers position it's acceptable to use your cell phone at any time you please. Even if you are a nurse manager, you can take photos of residents on your personal cell phone and send to a Doctor, even though the company has a policy in place to use a computerized system which protects HIPPA. This company does not post open vacancies as a policy, especially when it is a manager role. They are often, always given to people who are friends or family to the administration or DON. Even with more nurses having much more experience and much more qualified. In the handbook it states that staff will receive an annual raise from 2-4% which is suppose to be based on your job performance. This is not true either. I worked there for a number of years and received 2 legitimate 2% raises, the other for a mere .50 had to be discussed over a month time frame before being approvoed. They have a history of hiring new nurses and paying them a rate of $23/hr to start, all others by policy book started at $21.50. No raises have been given to nurses for almost 3 years but they can afford to advertise through indeed and offer a $2,000 sign on bonus.
