Pros

Staff benefits programme, amazing hard working staff and team players on the shop floor.

Cons

Undervalued, understaffed, bad management from the top, establishments are run from a desk at the top with little say in school. Trying to get new IT to be able to do your job is like pulling teeth, no value for what you do when you go above and beyond. Penalised for being off for childcare reasons which goes unpaid and goes on your absence record, regardless of the hard work you put in day to day, which for a company that looks after children is questionable. No trust in staff. Not flexible. computer says no is pretty much the answer given for any request - including flexible working. Brilliant staff leaving because they have been treated badly. Staff well-being is none existent. Rude directors whose manner with the staff on the ground is beyond disgraceful.

Pros

The children are amazing, they make the job worthwhile. One deputy manager was better than the other 2.

Cons

Management. Different rules for different staff. They Play favourites. Certain staff consistently late or not even bothering to turn up, management will turn a blind eye, where other staff will be reprimanded for arriving exactly on time /having car trouble and calling ahead/ sick child. Do not ever have any personal issues, they don't care, unless you are one of their favourites! Ask for advice on something you're not sure on, be ready to be told you're incompetent and you should know this, no support or guidance given, you could be completely new to the industry and still not get help. Report bad practice, be prepared to be ignored or bullied in to retracting what you have said. If you do follow through, you will be ignored and/or bullied by management. No shift pattern. shifts removed or changed without warning to suit others. Cant book 1 day off, forced to book a full week at a time. If you need a shift off for a hospital appointment, you have to ask not to be scheduled that day. You will then be put on the rota for that day and told tough, ask someone to swap with you. Cant book appointments in advance as there is no shift pattern and you dont know when you will be put on rota. Have to wear office attire in the morning and get changed into comfortable clothing later on, going through 2 sets of clothes for one shift is a joke, cleaning children's bedrooms in office attire? Not constructive and there is no meaning or value to this. If you value your mental health, do not work here under current management team. Management can't take criticism. You are given a yearly happiness survey to fill in, you will be bullied into scoring high, they tell you if you give a score less than an 8, you might aswell find another job, you're the problem, not them!
