The work at WolframAlpha can be very interesting and very engaging. There are lots of opportunities to learn new skills. WolframAlpha employees are very global and highly educated work force.

The work environment is quite toxic and not collaborative whatsoever. Stephen Wolfram is really disconnected from the day-to-day operations of the company and the company makes no effort at all to reach out to customers to improve products and services. Advancement in the company mostly seems based on being friends or related to a manager high up in the company rather than the actual work produced by the employee. The pay is also significantly less than most software and technology companies pay. The benefits are pretty average for a company of this type.
