Pros

Local company that was once a fast growing company with vision for the future.

Cons

First and foremost, the management is absolutely horrible -- and they like it that way. The companies culture is that of a factory and its toxic. They make promises they don't keep. For example, when I came there, I was promised that I could hire a team to do my job. They reneged after I started. A year later, I then tried to hire another guy and they made him a verbal offer which he accepted, then never put the offer in writing! I was told budgets changed. But then the very same department hired 5 more engineers over the next 6 moths and never went back to the guy that they broke a promise to to make good on that offer. They simply didn't care. Didn't think that's wrong. The like treating people that way. They bully employees. I routinely had employees from all over the building I worked in drop into my office and cry about how they were being treated. I heard horrible stories of abuse, callus disregard, neglect and mistreatment. They put people in dangerous situations. They produce products with dubious safety. They have no engineering discipline and almost no engineering talent outside of their semiconductor teams and their product quality suffers from it. Its really, really, really bad. They recently brought in a new CEO to try to fix it and he's tried. While he seems to have his heart in the right place, he's still a terrible CEO and everyone just one level or two below him are still the same as they were years ago. Changing the culture of a business is difficult, perhaps impossible. Why would you ever want to be part of that?
