Pros
- Middle (and upper) Management care about their teams/staff and respect their work/life balance. - Flexible schedule if office work only - just make sure you get your job done and you can work flexible hours. - Personal life is respected - no needing to explain appointments or time off beyond a reasonable measure (i.e. a few hours for an appointment). - Decent & fair compensation (Strategic Consulting sector, can't speak to others).
Cons
- Inconsistent workload - it's either 0 or 100, no in between. - Not a ton of room for upward mobility. - Management says they are supportive, but not much effort aside from goals set annually is made to push career development or seeking opportunities. - A lot of travel (not during COVID, thankfully) in Strat Con. Prior to COVID, traveled much more than discussed in job interview.
