Pros

I would say Woopra's biggest pro is that it supports your growth and helps you develop your career if you are committed and demonstrate you have a positive impact on the company. I've seen someone who was hired for customer success transition to sales after expressing her interest, new roles created based on employees' career goals, interns given flexibility to explore different areas, etc. Other pros: - Nice benefits that I haven't seen at other companies I've worked at, like a stipend that covers your commute costs - Every person on the team can make a difference if they want to. Woopra was the first company where I could clearly see the impact my work had on the company and customers. - You feel proud that the technology is superior to competing products. It's a very product focused company and not one of those that's all hype and marketing. - The team is diverse and people are from all over the world. You get to learn a lot about different cultures and walks of life.

Cons

- There isn't a lot of structure so you have to be the type of person who enjoys autonomy. I loved this but I can see it being a poor fit for someone who wants a lot of feedback or direction. - Related to above, there are many times where you have to figure things out on your own. It can be challenging, even frustrating, and definitely not for everyone.

Pros

Woopra is a great company to grow with and to actually have an impact on the product. With such a small team, being around passionate people who can carry their weight is really important. Everyone here is hardworking and realizes what a great product we have. If you like actually doing things that matter and have an impact on the product, Woopra is the perfect place.

Cons

There's really not any major cons I can think of. I suppose the one downside is that with being a smaller company, perks and benefits that other bigger companies have aren't as many. Perhaps on my wishlist, I'd like to see a more flexible vacation/WFH policy and perhaps a monthly wellness stipend. However, not having these benefits is a small price to pay to be a part of such a great team and company.

Pros

As an engineer, the best thing about Woopra is the awesome technology they have built. Big data, distributed systems, microservices, containerization, lightning fast NOSQL queries, CLI tooling, dedicated hardware...It's an awesome stack. The next best thing is the team. My fellow employees really were a uniquely enjoyable bunch of people who were great to work with. Elie really knows how to hire good people. I felt there was a good work/life balance, reasonable attitude toward vacations, etc. All in all, you have the opportunity to make a huge impact, wear a lot of hats so to speak (and learn a wide range of skills as a result), and to see and feel the impact of your work.

Cons

Maybe a con or maybe not, depending on the individual, but the team is small, and it often falls to the individual to scope their projects, and make decisions about how best to proceed or how to interpret an end goal. It can sometimes feel like the total vision is not there or not communicated. It often becomes the employee's responsibility to define the work, and sometimes this leads to misunderstanding between teams and management. While this can be a hardship, it also opens up opportunities for you to learn and grow faster than you might in a different situation.
