I stayed for the salary & flexible office hours but won't recommend to friends or former coworkers - Anonymous employee Woot Employee Review

Pros

Great salaries & Amazon stock if you can survive past 2 years, goal is 4 years to fully vest your stock options (getting harder every year as the pressure cooker increases). Very casual dress code is nice. Not rigid processes like traditional retailers so you can try new things without a lot of red tape.

Cons

No work/life balance, expected to be available 24/7 and holidays and workload is impossible, especially with horrible tools and systems. Management favoritism to Seattle employees even though most of Woot is in Dallas. Subjective annual review process is a popularity contest to decide who will get fired each cycle to meet the Amazon quotas. Low morale & high turnover but everyone ignores it. Vacation time not competitive with other major retailers so push to negotiate more up front if you're interviewing, even though you can never really take a vacation from Woot anyway.

Pros

The culture at Woot is phenomenal. It's fun to work for a growing company with great people and great managers.

Cons

Being owned by Amazon has pros but certainly has cons too.
