Pros
Prestigious International Organization with global impact, lots of skilled colleagues and meaningful ultimate goal.
Cons
Workload is not balanced. Even within the same grade/position/salary workload and responsibilities can change a lot from one employee to another, depending on the unit/programme where you work and on your supervisor. There is almost zero possibilities to grow. Once you enter within a certain position/grade level, you will most likely die with that grade, unless you have some very powerful and high level connections/friends within the organization. Finally there is a huge difference in terms of salary and benefits depending if you are General Service (locally recruited) or Professional Staff (internationally recruited). However often there are G Staff much more skilled, competent and loaded with responsibilities compared to P staff.
