Pros

Julie Vinatier was a great manager. She made sure that I was always busy, but able to manage my workload. She was constantly checking in with me to make sure that I was enjoying my work and if I was not she worked to find something I would enjoy doing. Julie made an effort to talk to me on a personal level as well. This allowed me to be comfortable coming to her with questions. Additionally, she took additional time to help me think about my future after I graduate college. She took time to find me a variety of relevant resources that could help me in my job search. Justine also took time to come in and talk to the interns and act as a resource.

Cons

The work environment as a whole is quit impersonal. Everyone is on their computers doing their own thing and verbal communication is nearly nonexistent. When you walk into the main office (as opposed to the separate intern office) it was rare to get a hello from a full time staff member. It wasn't until the end of my time there that one of the full time staff members that I did not work with directly actually said goodbye to me at the end of the day. Finally, with the workload of the interns it is clear that WTCI depends heavily on interns. Although a decent learning opportunity, 18 hours a week for an unpaid ($65 stipen) internship is a lot of work.
