Pros
The field director in my country happened to be amazing. She was there for us volunteers 24/7. If we needed anything she was incredibly resourceful, finding a way around the bureaucracy and red tape often found in developing nations to support us out in the jungle and away from the capital. She prepared us for our time in the field as best as anyone could in the two weeks allocated by WorldTeach for orientation. The time spent in a developing country teaches you so much about yourself and your abilities to persevere-- this cannot be attributed to WT, just volunteering in general.
Cons
No support from the offices in Cambridge. They have zero knowledge of the country I was placed in. They actually have Skype "office hours" for the volunteers to go to for support-- which is laughable you're lucky if you can connect to Gmail let alone Skype for a video call. No regard for the actual work put in by the volunteers-- they just want their paperwork in on time.
