A Disheartening Experience as an Assistant Professor - Assistant Professor Woxsen University Employee Review

My tenure at Woxsen University was nothing short of a nightmare. The institution's work environment is plagued by extreme micro-management, where employees are constantly under the scanner, both figuratively and literally, with pervasive camera surveillance. Such an oppressive atmosphere stifles creativity and makes one feel more like a cog in a machine than a valued professional. The governance of the university is deeply flawed, with decision-making concentrated in the hands of a single individual, making it a classic example of a one-man show. This lack of a democratic and transparent system creates a toxic work culture where favoritism, boot-licking, and arbitrary decisions take precedence over merit and fairness. Academically, the institution lacks depth and substance, with a shallow focus on real intellectual growth and development. The recruitment and firing process is erratic and arbitrary, leaving faculty members constantly on edge. Alarmingly, in just one year, more than 40 employees left the university, a testament to its unsustainable and hostile work culture. Overall, Woxsen University fails to provide the supportive, collaborative, and progressive environment that one would expect from a higher education institution. For anyone considering working here, I strongly urge you to think twice and weigh your options carefully.
