Pros

Full time hours guaranteed with lots of chances to pick up hours

Cons

There are lots of chances to pick up hours because the work culture is so toxic people call in sick every shift, sometimes several staff. There is little to no oversight from management, when staff complain about dangers or treatment management will work together to bully that staff. You are constantly at risk of injury from clients who have no consequences for abusive behaviours and management will always let the clients with the most funding get away with the most violence. You are expected to wear more hats than manageable (clients aren’t expected to cook or clean common spaces of their rooms and are basically enabled to do as little as possible for their own care). Working here will have you facing racism, misogyny and physical violence from clients with management usually doing what they can to silence the staff members experiencing abuse. They do not have accountability amongst clients or leadership. The ratios of worker to clients are incredibly high with them regularly putting more clients to worker than what is in their contract.
