Pros
At first all seems great! They paint an idyllic picture, nice office, fun retreats, but then you see what's behind the curtains and it is NOT pretty or legal.
Cons
*I only have 1 star because 0 stars was not an option ... GENERAL: It is my highest recommendation that you run, do not walk, in the opposite direction. XDIN (which has now merged into ALTEN USA) is facing several major legal compliance issues. They are either unable or unwilling to abide by state and federal laws in nearly every aspect including but not limited to immigration, labor laws, and privacy/confidentiality. They are just a staffing company in disguise which should not even be allowed to sponsor VISAs. To all Employees: They lie to their employees and create a false sense of security but on the back end they fire anyone without notice, I'm talking DAY OF. They underpay all of their admin employees, they will not give them a raise but will make false promises of a future raise on the horizon only to tell you that there is no money. They take their employees on fancy retreats and blow thousands of dollars on alcohol and then skimp on money everywhere else. For the engineering consultants: The "business managers", or "BMs" as they are also called (which is a horrible acronym ...), have two jobs: to open new clients (companies who will take XDIN consultants) and to place the XDIN consultants in positions that they desire, excel, learn, and thrive in. However, XDIN cannot open new clients and they place their consultants on the first thing that opens otherwise they don't know when they'll have another opportunity to place them. They only pay good salaries to the Swedes and the French (like $90k+) but any other VISA type will get the short end of the stick - same job for only $60k-70k. If you are on a work VISA, it is in your best interest to get your own immigration counsel to advise you - XDIN will explicitly break the tenants of your work authorization and compromise your ability to work in the USA ever again. For the admin: The BMs will be your boss. Nothing short of that. BMs, which are really just glorified sales people getting paid ($100k+) will make policy and make huge illegal decisions and get mad when you don't have their mess cleaned up before they make it. They will eventually get what they want, so if you are happy to break laws and commit fraud on their behest, then this is the place for you! When they don't immediately get their way they legitimately throw temper tantrums, running into the head hauncho's office complaining that you told them they were wrong. They behave like petulant miscreant children when things don't go their way - literally behaving like middle school children lacking the professional poise and maturity that any other normal and healthy company demands. They only care about their bonuses, ignoring or uncaring of whose livelihood it messes with. They don't even care about the law ....
