Pros
Working from home and working with some amazingly talented colleagues (vastly undervalued)
Cons
- Wrong people promoted into Management roles. Little to no experience / qualifications in the marine industry. - Payroll make constant mistakes. You’re always having to double check and fight with HR / Management to be paid what you’re owed. - False promises and constant dangling of the carrot on improved conditions when infact conditions became poorer and poorer. - Management and Senior Leadership team are noticeably out of touch and not familiar with the industry in which the company operates. - Certain members of the Senior Leadership Team laughed and smiled on teams calls whilst making a large portion of their core staff redundant in the run up to Christmas. - Redundancy process was full of errors and delays. - Marine team instructed by the former marine superintendent to break maritime law in certain jurisdictions to get the job done. Backed up by threats / intimidation. Told one thing in writing (legal) and verbally told to do another (illegal). - Doesn’t value actual industry experience / knowledge. Will use you and then spit you out when they are done without so much as a thank you. - Do not believe their figures on female employees within the marine industry. They use HR, Survey etc in these figures when in reality there was actually only 1 female working within the actual marine team as a Pilot. - Look good on LinkedIn but LinkedIn certainly doesn’t reflect reality. - Mass disorganisation since new structure brought in by COO from outside the industry with little to no understanding of the marine / survey industry. This in my mind has cost the company huge sums of money in part leading up to mass redundancies at the end of 2025.
