Pros

My team is great, there really are some phenomenal people here.

Cons

There's a reason that most of the positive reviews here were posted three years ago. This place has changed and not for the better. Leadership is so focused on maintaining a certain image that they overlook real opportunities to make this a great (or even tolerable) place to work. The company is often dishonest and really doesn’t treat staff well. I've seen them force out or straight up fire some really loyal and hardworking people. If you’re thinking of taking a position with this company, please consider this carefully and proceed with caution. In my time here, I’ve seen the following occur: 1. Leadership forces out executive staff who tries to make positive change within the company. They will only keep on “yes men” who won’t rock the boat. There are some real changes that need to be made here, but their ego won’t allow this to happen. 2. Turnover is extremely high and leadership won’t even acknowledge that this affects the other who remain in the company. I’ve seen teams who have a new boss on average about once a year. There is no recognition that this lack of staff continuity affects everyone and impacts the work environment and morale. 3. They will offer a position to an employee and then rescind the offer. This is not an isolated event. I have seen employees been offered a job and then when they begin work, the job is completely different from what they accepted. I’ve seen employees completely rearrange their lives around a career goal promised by the company only to have the company change their minds and not create the position. 4. They make very little attempt to match skill sets with jobs or even to understand what employees strengths are. They do talk a lot about understanding what people’s skill sets are and making sure staff is in the right role. But I’ve seen high level staff spend 40 hours a week on administrative tasks. I’ve seen employees with no management experience or skill whatsoever get promoted because they are willing to embrace the yes man/ back stabbing culture to move up. I’ve seen employees with no management skill lead teams for several years without the communication skill or leadership skill to do so. I’ve seen entire teams desperate to leave their positions because their manager is so toxic. 5. The company encourages staff to apply for promotions and lateral moves, but if you do so, it’s likely to get you fired. I’ve seen staff apply for promotions only to be told that they obviously don’t appreciate their current position, so they are pushed out. 6. Don’t believe what you read in the handbook. Much of this is just a marketing ploy on the part of the company. There’s no work/life balance. Your value is in working 60+ hours a week and in keeping your head down while doing so. They will squeeze everything out of you and then ask for more. They like to make the company look good on paper, but a lot of it is completely false. 7. They are constantly asking for feedback but won’t listen to anything they don’t want to hear. I could go on about my experiences here, but I think you get the idea. This company lacks integrity and maturity. The owner has read a few leadership books and maybe he tries to put good leadership into practice, but he doesn’t have the maturity to build a healthy culture. What he tries to do may look good on paper, but in reality, his lack of experience & maturity, coupled with the egotistic way he makes decisions and interacts with others creates a toxic culture that really does damage to people’s lives.

Pros

With significant experience in the workforce, I can confidently say that working here has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career. The culture is vibrant and deeply rooted in authenticity, with a clear investment in the people who make the organization what it is. Flexibility and generous benefits aren’t just offered, they are encouraged and modeled. There is a genuine sense that life happens, and leadership consistently shows empathy and understanding around that. The workforce is incredibly smart, mission driven, and emotionally invested in the organization’s success. There is a clear commitment to core values not just in branding or all-hands slides, but in how decisions are made and how people treat each other. It is incredibly rewarding to work at a company where so many of the members are true fans, genuinely grateful for the support they have received in launching and growing their businesses. You can really feel the impact of the work, and the “why” behind it is both clear and motivating. Communication from leadership is transparent and frequent, and there is a refreshing sense of realism when it comes to growth goals and expectations. It is easy to stay aligned with where the company is headed.

Cons

As with any company in a growth phase, there are occasional growing pains. New processes, shifting roles, and team expansions can sometimes feel a bit unsteady. One concern is how to maintain the strong culture and close knit feel as the company scales It is a challenge, but one that can absolutely be met with the right focus and intention.

Pros

Things have changed a lot at XYPN in the last couple years. The core values (mission-driven, be well being you, get sh!t done, do the right thing, and win together lose together) used to be more aspirational than real. There's been a lot of investment in training and supporting managers, and it shows. Retention is way better, and a new teammate shared that it's one of the first places they've ever worked that really lives out core values. No surprise, the positive change in culture has also helped lead to a very positive financial outlook. For me, doing my best work with really smart people who care about what they do is incredibly fulfilling, especially since that work helps financial advisors start their own businesses and make quality financial advice more accessible. As a brand new parent, who works with a ton of other parents here, I have a deep new appreciation for the flexibility and benefits package XYPN provides. I didn't think it would be possible to grow a career while prioritizing my family, and fully expected to pay the price for that. If anything, I've experienced the opposite. I can flex my schedule to take care of a sick baby or take time off to take them on adventures. I have a community at work that supports and celebrates this stage of my life with me, and that's been an incredibly powerful thing.

Cons

We're still a small company with a diverse, complex product/service offering. There's plenty of work to go around, and keeping up with the pace of change in the world when it's already all hands on deck can be overwhelming from time to time.
