Pros

Peers are smart but becoming burnt out and depressed.

Cons

The C-Suite leadership has made this company a place of dread and depression. The have hired an ineffective “lean management” firm which is not practicing lean and has created organizational decay and morale to fall to an all time low - they are toxic, nobody likes them, yet they have license to continue creating problems within the company. The CEO is now referring to shareholders as “our owners” and asking employees to use the same term - this is demeaning and gross. The CEO and his leadership don’t care about employees, or the public we serve, but rather have an obsession to bring “relentless value to our owners”. Think about that every time you pay your high Xcel Energy bill. There is a core of sycophants in the leadership that are afraid to speakup, and rather collect a paycheck, the board of directors also seem aloof to the problems the CEO and the COO have caused in the company.

Pros

Standard methods, cloud infrastructure, and reliance on in house staff over contractors makes it very easy to implement safe, fast, consistent changes. You will be valued as a human and you will have a voice within this company. You can make a career here. Your coworkers and immediate leadership are all talented and intelligent individuals who actually know how to do the same work you are doing.

Cons

AI rollout and unevenly applied hybrid work made things difficult for employees with disabilities and those that lived far from office who had traditionally worked remote or for tasks that do not lend themselves well to AI overhead
