Pros
I worked as an Application Specialist at Xcode Life Sciences and it was a pleasant experience. This was my second job since I graduated. The bosses actually believe that talent doesn't come with a degree. In a country where people with a bachelor's degree are hardly given any opportunity in the core areas, the founders actually believe in giving equal opportunity to everyone. One of the best things about the place is the freedom to express our ideas and apply them. With very few people on board, interaction is much more efficient than other set ups. Honestly, it's a great place if you're willing to work 24*7 and make an extra effort, which is usually expected of you. Also, the bosses are pretty cool and friendly most of the time and they make sure they hire a great bunch of employees too. There is no unhealthy competition among employees and you'll soon make good friends. Over all, it was a very good experience for me.
Cons
Every job experience has its ups and downs. I feel that after a while, the nature of the work becomes a little monotonous and all we do is keep going around in circles. This can be improved with better clarity in the management's expectations. Also, although interaction is much better when compared to other places, I feel that there was still a gap in communication. If you're asked to report to some other intermediate person, the bosses' expectations are not properly communicated to you and you end up getting the wrong job done. I had trouble with this during the initial few days. In such a scenario, it's always better to clarify with the bosses.
