Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and offer some feedback.
Investing in our employees is an important priority for us, so I’m sad to read that you felt we fell short when investing in you. We do have budgets for training, including our apprenticeships levy, but we rely heavily on people asking their line manager for us to spend on covering any training needs. To my knowledge, I am unaware of any requests which have been turned down. On the contrary, we tend to struggle to use our training budget, which is one reason we are reviewing how we allocate it.
I completely accept that moving from an office in the middle of Windsor to one in Bracknell isn’t for everyone. We moved as we were growing and wanted a more modern office with better working space and the capacity to increase the number of people we could employ. I’m sorry you preferred the old office. I know it provided a number of after-work social options, which is why we’re introduced our ‘beer fridge Fridays’ here in Bracknell. Again, I accept that isn’t for everyone.
Finally, I’d like to say how much I recognise the pain that change can bring. We merged two successful brands and, when you do something like that, there can be a feeling that longs for ‘the good old days’. I totally get this, I really do. However, we all know that much change was, and still is, needed in our organisation especially as our customer’s expectations have changed dramatically over the last five years as well as the competitive landscape we operate within. What we must do is work together to change in the most effective, efficient and inclusive way. I sense that, for you, we failed in this ambition for which I am sorry.
I wish you all the best in your new role, and if you would ever like to offer any other suggestions for how we make Xe a better place for our employees and customers, please do get in touch with me.
Richard Evans.
