Pros
Interesting work Worked from home Great benefits
Cons
This job actually started out in ThomasNet, which was going great. I enjoyed the work and work from home. However, some time later the ancient company was acquired by a startup Xometry and things began to go downhill. Naturally people worried, as it was post-pandemic times, but we as employees were reassured to "just continue doing what we were always doing. Nothing to worry about here". There in their attempt to win us in culture we had to attend weekly 1-hour long zoom meetings to talk about random stuff, non work-related. Then not long after the outsourcing/mass layoffs began. Word got out that they were cutting redundancies in management, so the technical people were to be left untouched, as they were critical to the operations of the company/website. Eventually they did start cutting into the technical people, some of whom have been performing very good work, often to replace us with international vendors. For those of us who remained we then had to do a bunch of QA/QC work to correct their mistakes that should not have been there in the first place.
