Business outlook
Pros
Flexible work arrangements, access to inexpensive world-class health care, exceptional 401 benefits and plans, an environment surrounded by a vital city, with accessible arts, theaters, restaurants, museums and night life.
Cons
Salaries are very constrained in ranges for everyone with the exception of the highest levels of administration, faculty, and researchers. Administrative staffing areas and budgets are always the first to be cut, which means means less funding for salaries. There are times when raises are given, non-base building to help the University budget but hurt the staff. The HR evaluation process continues to use forced ranking, which is discouraging to innovation and morale.
