Pros
Free food on shift (kids meal). Diverse workplace. Flexible with requesting time off and give more hours if needed. 20 percent discount on drinks at Youngs. Paid weekly
Cons
Felt belittled and gaslit over management's mistakes. Capricious managers with a bad attitude that rubs off on their team members. Poor training- little to none, not even a tour of the workplace prior to shift. Did 13 hour shifts with a barely 30 minute break- then a few months later told I should have been given 1 hour break. Never felt rewarded for hard work. Poorly managed. No daily close checklist , roles given. If done it would be done sporadically. They could not decide when to close, so sometimes you would work unexpectedly longer than you thought. Maybe all hospitality is the same. If exhaustion and denigration is not your thing AVOID.
