Pros
Friendly coworkers and good company benefits.
Cons
Late 2017, leadership hired a new branch manager (from a competitor) since the branch wasn't turning a profit. Everyone was optimistic that the branch would improve. Since the branch was already in bad shape, there was nowhere to go but up, right? WRONG. Because the branch was losing money, the branch manager decided that it would be best to layoff/fire some employees in order to “cut costs.” But then they went ahead and hired more people from the same company that the new branch manager transferred from. What happened to cutting costs? These new employees were given leadership roles as managers and supervisors despite some of them not having any prior leadership experience in the previous company. It’s very apparent that these new employees don’t have the experience needed to run their respective departments, and the good employees are left scrambling to compensate for their useless managers. Some of these new managers and supervisors walk around concerning themselves with the new office paint job or the new logos that were put up instead of manning their departments and supporting their teams. Long story short, the previous managers and supervisors were fired and replaced by people from the branch manager’s previous company. People who lack experience and qualifications, but got the position because they knew the branch manager or someone connected to the branch manager. Talk about office politics. Morale is at an all-time low. Many are scared of speaking up in fear of being reprimanded. Don’t work here if you don’t have time to brown nose the very supervisors and managers who are unqualified to run their departments. New leadership clearly favors pirating employees from the branch manager’s old company rather than promoting from within, even if it means hiring unqualified individuals. Don’t work here if you don’t want a dead-end job. There’s a lack of direction and mentorship. They look at you as a dispensable item instead of an asset to the team you work for. “Team” isn’t even in the vocabulary of some of these managers. It’s always about themselves, not about their subordinates. It’s disappointing what the company is turning out to be. Don’t bother wasting your time here.
