Pros
a few nice people here and there
Cons
Where do I begin? It is the most toxic environment of any place I have ever worked. The LifeVest division is run like a fiefdom and though they have been hiring experienced people, they won't listen to those people and insist they are wrong, when in fact they come with many years of industry experience. These people then walk out the door wishing they had never set foot inside LifeVest. It was complete living hell the entire time I was there. On my first day, two people left, that should have been the first clue. It was a continual revolving door up until the day I left. I have never seen such a lack of professionalism and frankly the person I worked for could only be described as a psychopath (the kind you read about existing in business but you don't believe actually exists). The benefits are not good, and the pay was just ok. They don't trust any employees and working from home is forbidden except in extreme emergencies and even then you never hear the end of it. You are not given the tools you need to do your job, but are expected to make it happen, even when impossible. They push vendors so hard that they cannot keep them and there is a complete lack of business ethics regarding vendors. It is no wonder that they cannot find good vendors to work with them. I spent most of my time begging vendors not to quit. There is a complete lack of accountability among management. What surprises me is that Chelmsford is either completely unaware of what goes on, or they just don't care. There is a huge issue with retention and turn over and they act like they can't figure out why. The environment is completely hostile and toxic and I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. It was constant bullying by certain members of management and these people are used as henchmen for the higher level member of management. I've worked in both large and small companies and I have never seen anything like this.
