Cons
Let's start with the phoney mandatory Culture Workshop, where you get to tell other new employees you have never met before how much you appreciate them.…(almost as bad as the childish Disney team building event that made us all cringe). The fake nature of this event really sets the scene, as Zebra UK does not really appreciate employees, it just does a decent job of pretending. Despite the effort, the culture is still divisive and non-inclusive. Most initiatives for us are only tick boxes, this especially applies to the annual appraisal, the on-site “gym”, the Women in Technology events and much more. Worse salaries are below the average for the area, we have no real training opportunities (some training online has not been updated for years). Finally: HR has lost its humanity and is populated by some individuals that are unable to even pretend they know what “empathy” means, others do an ok job when they are asked and reminded. Jobs are often deliberately not advertised internally and promotion seems mainly available to “mates” from the network. If you get a job here please also be aware that the office can be freezing cold, puffa jacket and gloves recommended!!
