Pros
- Free Lunch Daily (except Fridays) - Nice People in the Boston office
Cons
- Severely toxic workplace - "Life/work balance" is a spoken concept at Zerto, but seldom followed - Lack of communication between departments and offices (the lack of communication there is absolutely outstanding sometimes in how broken it is) - Complete ignorance by overseas management when it comes to doing business in the US and understanding known US business practices (For a company nearly 10 years old!) - Lack of leadership and ownership of projects (hot potatoes just get passed around) - No Sense of urgency on any tasks when having to do with overseas staff (often, things stay broken for months) - Brutal treatment of employees, with layoffs and/or forced resignations a common theme ("Do it, or leave" attitude) - Unqualified people being promoted/hired to better positions that have no business being in them, except they were "someone's friend" (aka a favoritism hire) - Severely political between two offices (Power & Management struggles between the two offices) - Employees who complain about awful overseas managers are often silenced quickly by broken promises to help or fix situations, if complaints are repeated, they are just shown the door or pushed out. - "Dual HQ" that just does not work - For a company that offers BDR solutions, they have little desire to strive for "business continuity" internally - Zerto has some great employees, but often are never allowed to shine due to poor management style - Off shore management that will drive you crazy by micromanaging you to death - VERY high turnover, which often leads to understaffed departments - Many positions have had high turnover and cannot keep good people in them due to poor management & direction - The good and talented people come and go quickly and do not stay - No real attempt at employee retention - HR is very "hands off" and often can't fix overseas management issues, so they won't get involved. Good luck if you have issues with your overseas manager, you pretty much on your own. HR will not help. - Company moral is very low, and has been very low since a large layoff last year (2018) - New CRO seems nice, but keeps hiring his "buds" from previous companies, which is always a bad sign - Product space is getting flat and stale. Zerto isn't the 'Hot new product' anymore.
