Pros
Mostly Very nice colleagues Wide variety of tasks depending on your interests, skills and what you‘re willing to do. For me as an electronics engineer this means planing of the required device components, designing hard- and software and verification tests.
Cons
Very old equipment. Missing safety relevant equipment such as transformers to safely operate on an open device under mainlet voltage. Many problems are known but not touched. For example a proper use of subversion isn‘t properly enforced and hence problems occur. The large variety of tasks is nice but on the other hand Leads to poor implementations. For example a hardware guy cannot be able to write perfect source code. According Problems are daily business.
