Either they have auto-renewals or they record any random client employee to verbally sign another contract. Of course ZipLocal has lawyers on standby to intimidate small businesses for not paying. Of course leadership knows that yellow books are a dying business so they’ve rebranded their offerings as “digital marketing”. Anybody that has experience with SEO and web design will quickly realize that our services are mediocre.
It’s all about locking small businesses into a contract then threatening to litigate. That’s the business model. It’s very lucrative.
