Pros

Great tool. Product and Engineering deserve a round of applause.

Cons

I’ll just summarise: - For a long time I worked 10-13 hour work weeks. Eventually they put into place an overtime program but only top performing reps could request time. This led to people working extra hours and not logging their time honestly, to ensure that they could keep up with the pace. - My boss showing up late to multiple meetings because they overslept. Or the constant use of explicit language… - People getting fired left and right. People also getting hired left and right. Survival of the fittest. In fact, their entire sales organisation is built on this model. - Demo day? Don’t even let me get started… My advice to anyone in their early 20s getting out of college: don’t put yourself through this. There are so many other, better, modern, tech startups to work at, that won’t milk you dry.

Thanks for your feedback. I agree with you – our Engineering and Product teams do a phenomenal job creating the modern go-to-market platform. It’s been a pleasure for me to sell during my tenure with ZoomInfo. As a former SDR myself, I know the challenges of the role very well, but I firmly believe that it’s the best possible arena to learn the foundations of tech sales. So with that in mind, I’d like to take the opportunity to respond to your concerns. I’m disappointed to hear that some people may not have been logging their time correctly. Our switch to hourly for SDRs was intended to help our reps better balance their work and life. It’s fairly typical for companies to deny overtime to under-performing employees, but it is not accurate to say that we only approve overtime for top performers. In fact, we haven’t denied any overtime requests since the switch was made. The feedback I’ve received from this change has been overwhelmingly positive. Regarding turnover, you would find the same situation amongst SDRs at any other tech company. It’s an entry level position where folks find out if Sales is a career they see for themselves. It’s not the right fit for everyone. Add to that the current job market and our astronomical rate of growth, and I can see how you might get a perception of high turnover. In reality, our turnover rate is below the industry benchmark. We 100% want to see everyone grow and succeed here, but we’re a high-performing, fast-paced culture and have high expectations of all our employees. It’s how we’ve been so successful. I am concerned about your report of a manager acting unprofessionally, and I apologize for that. We take these reviews very seriously and will look into this immediately. Great place to work with a lot of forward thinking leaders to learn from. Really ahead of other companies on implementing AI in the business. Moves much faster with less bureaucracy than other similarly sized companies

Pros

Good pay, good benefits and great office.

Cons

Poor hiring decisions, recent layoffs eliminated mostly remote employees because they are prioritizing in office employees, especially with recent investment in office. RIF was not at all based on performance which meant that some in office employees who don't know what they are doing got to keep their job. You have to suck up to management to get promoted and a lot of really good reps leave as a result of constant micro-management.
