Pros

Great coworkers, except for the ones who are friends with the CEO from college or law school and are just collecting money, or related to him or the COO. Pay and benefits are decent. Product is best in the market. I would give it one star, but I like my boss and my coworkers, and I like some of the members of the other teams who don't fall in the Nepo-employee category. Cool tech, and it is improving. The company has big potential and could easily be a $100b market cap business if it could only get out of its own way, fire the hangers-on, and bring in experienced, industry leading execs. We've made some moves over the last 12 months, but not enough.

Cons

Nepotism, Nepotism, Nepotism---We call it NepoInfo instead of ZoomInfo sometimes. "Chief Strategy Officer"--imaginary job, he sat next the CEO in law school which he constantly boasts about publicly and doesn't run anything, chased away and bulled several employees out in Product, chased away our HR partner who was awesome, complains about everyone. COO's family member works there--untouchable. And can't write about NepoInfo and not mention the in-law exec with no degree, the husbands/wives/all relationships and people who went to high school together in Vancouver and date, divorce, etc., each other. It's basically people who peaked in HS and they brought their 2001 homecoming afterparty with them. Lots of kids of parents with jobs, internships, etc. We did "not layoffs" layoffs in January. Of course, no Nepos were touched, no matter how little they do and how much they get paid. Execs who aren't Nepos rotate in and out ,mostly because the Nepos seem to feel threatened by competent and knowledgable people. It's only a matter of time before our new leaders like the CTO, CHRO, and CRO are fired and replaced with some Nepos. RSU awards were small this year, but every company seems to be doing that. RTO also not great, but not brutal. It's manageable but I wish we could have take more time going right back to 3 days.

ZoomInfo Response

Hey there, Chad Herring here, CHRO of ZoomInfo. It sounds like you've been on a roller coaster during your time at ZI, but you're still strapped in because you believe in what we're doing here – the products, the potential, and the people. I appreciate that you care enough about the organization that you penned down your thoughts. I'd love to talk about this live, but I understand that Glassdoor offers anonymity and that can feel more comfortable. So, I’ll do my best to respond to your concerns. Yes, it's true. We've got family ties and old-school colleagues sprinkled across ZI. With a team of nearly 4,000 people, it’s to be expected and it's also not unique to ZoomInfo. But, I can tell you this – no one got their job because they were the CEO's lab partner or because they play a mean game of golf. They're here because they've got the grit, the attitude, the skills, and the smarts, and they add something to the culture we care about. They keep their job because they perform and are good team members to others. Sometimes, we have to change team sizes. Some teams shrink while others grow to match our strategic priorities – just like what happened in January. And whenever we do have to decide to exit someone involuntarily, my team reviews and approves to make sure it's based on objective criteria. If you're up for it, I'm all ears for a chat or shoot me an email at chad.herring@zoominfo.com. Or, if you’d prefer anonymity, you can use an alias or ask a colleague to write the email for you. Remember, my door (and my inbox) is always open. - Chad Herring, ZoomInfo Chief Human Resources Officer

Pros

Great place to work with a lot of forward thinking leaders to learn from. Really ahead of other companies on implementing AI in the business. Moves much faster with less bureaucracy than other similarly sized companies

Cons

Difficult macro environment for the company and industry

Pros

Good pay, good benefits and great office.

Cons

Poor hiring decisions, recent layoffs eliminated mostly remote employees because they are prioritizing in office employees, especially with recent investment in office. RIF was not at all based on performance which meant that some in office employees who don't know what they are doing got to keep their job. You have to suck up to management to get promoted and a lot of really good reps leave as a result of constant micro-management.
