Pros

This job is amazing! We do lots of fun stuff and go on great outings.!The friends are the best part of the job. It's amazing to see them grow and enjoy the activities we offer. You can put all your creativity into your job! You get yearly raises so long as you have great attendance and do your job properly.

Cons

Be wary. if you aren't #1 in management's eyes prepared to be overlooked no matter how hard you work. Management is nice upfront but shady behind the scenes. Never trust them. There is a lot of enabled behavior but if they are a favorite, they can get away with whatever. Whether that be staff or the friends. Whoever wrote that last review is probably one of the toxic employees. When over 5 staff (who are all gone now hmm I wonder why) over the course of a few years report one person is awful to everyone and that person is never dealt with, you know something is wrong. Not to mention said site lost over 4 employees within 2 months.

Pros

I genuinely loved the individuals I worked with and will always be grateful for the relationships I built with them. The DSP field itself is incredibly meaningful work, and the individuals deserved every bit of care and advocacy they receive. I would send a loved one to their program but I would absolutely not recommend working there.

Cons

Unfortunately, the work environment and leadership made the job emotionally exhausting and unsustainable for staff. Management lacked professionalism, accountability, and healthy communication, which created a very stressful atmosphere. There was a strong culture of favoritism, manipulation, and disregard for staff well-being that made it difficult to feel supported or respected as an employee.
