Pros

If you've never done staffing, this is a great place to learn about the business and how it works. The commission structure is ok for someone starting out, and a good way to learn about how things work on a production environment, long term contract placements vs perm, etc. Benefits are ok if you are a single person.

Cons

One of the owners is heavily involved in all aspects of the day to day. She is regularly controlling what the priorities are from her perspective vs the other account managers. The dynamic can become uncomfortable at times. I was unaware of the large gap in commission when compared to what other staffing companies were offering. Most other firms are offering more than double the commission tiers that aquesst has in place. Quarterly rewards are given to the same 2-3 people, which are the people who have been there the longest. It's nearly impossible to win due to their existing contractors billing. No upward mobility, just a lot of hollow promises for future opportunities. No diversity whatsoever in this shop. No 401k match. They regularly asked us to write positive reviews to help with internal hiring.

Our generous 401K matching is detailed during new hire onboarding, is outlined in the handbook that each person is provided and is accessible on our one drive (24/7 access). If you did not receive this briefing, a handbook or access to our onedrive, please let me know. We did pause 401K matching during Covid to avoid furloughs, layoffs and salary cuts as we wanted to keep our team employed during difficult market conditions, but it was quickly reinstated. Our commission structure is based on the entire deal (not split between sales and recruiting) and is one of the strongest commission plans in the industry, it is also defined and outlined during the interview process and after starting. We value everyone’s input and contribution and offer several paths for recruiters, promotions include: team lead, account lead, senior and principal recruiter (based on individual interests and strengths). We also strive to have an open and transparent environment comprised of entrepreneurial individuals with various backgrounds and our hiring decisions are blind of ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender or nationality. Owners want each team member to succeed, as you will see from many reviews. We are sorry that you did not have the same positive experience as many of our members, many who have been with the company 5+ years, however we do not ask our team to write positive reviews.

Pros

Remote first environment which is nice

Cons

There’s a lot of favoritism and desperate treatment at aquesst. Different people are held to different standards. The morning meeting is just a way to micromanage recruiters while sales coasts for a year+ without making a placement. It’s so backwards.
