Pros
Smart, hard working people. You will get a lot of responsibility here and gain a lot of experience quickly but will not have the authority to make things happen. Products are interesting to customers but need a lot more evidence before wider adoption.
Cons
Competitive ability is questionable: the CEO lacks business acumen and the leadership skills required to drive bioTheranostics forward. He's also volatile, demotivates employees and doesn't trust anyone to do what they were hired to do. Senior management lives in a bubble and lacks experience compared to peer group companies. HR is worst-in-class (seriously, I've never met an HR department of one that's as tone deaf, inexperienced and as obtuse as HR at bioTheranostics). Salaries run 10-20% below comparators at other similar San Diego-based companies. Benefits got worse and worse every year. 401k was good, however, as the parent company matched up to 6% and you are invested right away. Turnover is very high with key personnel leaving for better opportunities on a regular basis--within last 24 months, the chief scientific officer left and wasn't replaced, the sales leadership changed three times, the chief medical officer left and many, many sales representatives have left/quit/been fired. It's a negative culture and environment.
