Pros
bp was one of my favourite workplaces. - Salary and compensation was great. Flexible working, and ownership of projects. - Multiple projects and ability to move to different projects and pick up new skills. - Innovative
Cons
- Business transformation and redundancies happened every 2 years or so, so no job security. - You could be moved onto a completely different project every business transformation (1-2 years), and the projects may not be in your skillset, so you have to learn on the job. - bp are now starting to return to the office and recruiting heavily offshore, and as a software engineer most of my team were in India, so I'd sit in the office alone without a team around me, so working in the office doesn't make sense for a software dev when most team members are not in the UK.
