Pros
I got my start in PR at d2 publicity straight out of college in the NY office led by Ereka Dunn. I worked for d2 for years and I must say, it was an excellent place to work. I learned so much from Ereka Dunn & Kathy Djonlich and they both were mentors to me. It’s a small environment which is ideal to those who like access to the client and ability to contribute in a bigger way to campaigns. I enjoyed the travel opportunities and working on a variety of clients, vs many other firms I know that only allow you to work within 1 sector. While I was there I got to work on many cool clients, work great events and move up within the organization. Overall, it was a great experience if you want to be mentored and really learn the nuts & bolts of fashion, beauty & lifestyle PR in a fast-paced, tight knit environment. The expectations are high, and not everyone can “cut it” there, but if you are someone that likes to think outside the box and are entrepreneurial & a multi-tasker, this is a great company to work for.
Cons
Have to be good at juggling many things at once. This is not the place to coast.
