Not the business it used to be - Manager eCompanyStore Employee Review

A great team of people working at eCompanyStore! Good systems and teamwork to meet customer demands.

The company was recently acquired, so that brings some uncertainties.

The core leadership is small, so it feels like a family. I managed a satellite retail location away from the main campus in Georgia, but they went out of their way to make sure we felt connected. They send gifts on birthdays and holidays, you're involved in companywide meetings, etc.

The salary really was not commensurate with the level of work you're expected to put in, nor are significant raises the norm. I was actually embarrassed at how much my assistant manager earned -- less than we paid temps -- and I was powerless to increase it. My salary as store manager only worked out to $2-$3 more per hour than temps were paid as well. Bonuses were nice but it left me feeling burned out and under appreciated when there was little hope for a pay increase or for vertical movement within the company. (There are very few retail locations, very little space to move upward.) There were more opportunities to move within the company we were a vendor for.
