Pros

Having been around the block and worked in many different industries, the one thing I've found energising working at eConsult is the work that we do has a real impact on millions of people. The vision for the company is one that is all about helping the NHS to become a more efficient place for patients. Weekly team meetings are rotated around the Exec team to give you updates on all areas of the business. The company has gone through some resizing exercises, but these have been handled with care and dignity. If you like to work towards tight deadlines and at high performance, then working here is fun. If however, you like to coast and do the minimum, you will not like it here. The company has evolved since I joined 2 years ago, The Exec team has matured considerably and now provides clear direction and guidance. Lastly, this is a company that cares for its staff, you matter here and that is why I like it here.

Cons

All companies have downsides, let's face it, utopia does not exist. If you are looking for a huge pension or private healthcare you won't find that here. You can get more pay from another company. What you cannot get, is the huge joy from knowing the products we have, saved a person's life, with the question 'does the pain feel like you've been hit round the head with a bat'. They said yes to this, got urgent help and got better. Beats knowing shareholder x got 30% more this year etc.

Pros

The people in the software team were amazing. Always there to help, encouraging, and fun to work with. The CTO is an amazing person to work for, eing that rare mix of both incredibly knowledgeable and personable. The company and those who work there clearly care about their mission to improve patient and medical staff experiences.

Cons

Multiple rounds of layoffs. Funding probmems. Too many directions and goals as a company. Issues with partners and contractors.
