This company only pays therapists as independent contractors. They do not provide any benefits nor do they withhold payroll taxes resulting in the therapist paying higher taxes due to paying the portion of social security that an employer typically pays. The company expects the time commitment that an employee would bring to a position. The hourly rate does not adequately compensate for the multitude of details that a therapist is required to attend to. The majority of positive reviews are written by management staff and the company has requested that the therapists write positive reviews. Eluma has gone through a lot of SLPs. They talk a lot of talk about company values but it is all just marketing hype that a few key administrative or managerial employees ascribe to. Until teletherapy companies including Eluma treat therapists as professionals as indicated by paying fair salaries, benefits including health insurance and disability insurance, they will continue to quickly hire and quickly lose good SLPs.
