Is this your company?

Pros

None, really. Success depends more on luck than hard work by you.

Cons

Pyramid type organization where they get 70% cut of the profit from your sales, some goes to overhead but they make at least as much as you for every sale that you make. Rep contract is structured so that when your number of listings decline as they will due to number of items of heavy equipment for sale going down over time they can fire you and after you are gone the product that you listed is kept by them and if it does sell they profit and you are long gone. They are in a continual mode of hiring people around the country and the more items the sales reps list creates more competition for yours. More people hired at no salary listing more equipment on their web site equals more profit for them but less chance for yours to sell.

Pros

Unlimited income potential is the main thing, freedom and flexibility of schedule, I can spend time with my family and dont work weekends....ever. Also I have belief in the management of the organization and my immediate regional manager who is very helpful. I think this company is on a path to really do amazing things in our industry.

Cons

commission job only, no insurance benefits, I have to be accountable for my time without supervision, my lack of equipment knowledge

Pros

About the only pro is if you like to work remotely and enjoy being an outside salesman this is both.

Cons

#1 problem is you will list equipment and spend hours and hours of time finding and negotiating to list equipment and a lot of money in gas and receive no compensation or reimbursement for gas. You only make an income if you if a listing you have sells. #2 You will get almost no leads for the equipment you list so that means you have almost no opportunity to make a sale or make any money. If they can't generate leads, it makes no sense why they keep bringing people on. #3 if you talk to the owner he will make all kinds of committments of what he is going to do and then Nothing will actually happen. Maybe he does this to keep you listing equipment for a few more weeks for once you leave he gets all your listings to sell and now they keep all the commissions which seems like this may be his entire system.
