Pros

Great benefits (very flexible paid leave and yearly bonus) and offered to help me find a role that fit with in the company's contracts with the government. They will help cover the cost for certifications and training that are related to your work, and reimbursements are quick.

Cons

No salary increase over the four years of eSA holding the contract I worked under. No real advancement opportunities offered given this is work in the government contract world. However, the new company that picked up the same contract that I am still working under has far fewer benefits with increased pay, so I would definitely take a pay decrease now to get some or all of the benefits eSA offered for the sake of my quality of life.

Pros

Excellent benefits, friendly and courteous co-workers, good work environment, competitive salaries

Cons

Do NOT work for the commercial branch of ESA. The government branch is well-managed, progressive and professional. However, the commercial side (that handles the NAIA), is a complete nightmare. The management is unprofessional, off-putting, does not provide valuable input or criticism and there is no room for advancement. The commercial branch does not believe in scoping out projects, their dealings with the client are unprofessional. The existing code is severely outdated, not scalable and has been touched by so many different employees that it's like Frankenstein's monster. The position I briefly held had been filled by, at least, 5 other programmers. They have a very specific way he likes code to be written (poorly) and will terminate anyone that questions his methods. Proven fact! Also, they claim to give you unlimited time-off / vacation but will punish you for taking time off even if you have a doctor's note.
