Pros

A bunch of helpful, bright, intelligent, motivated people. I've never worked in such a healthy work environment. Work-life balance is on point. Micromanagement is not a thing here. The work is complex and interesting, but not to the point of frustration (most days). The team as a whole is the sort to have each other's backs through thick and thin. I hope to spend many many happy years at this company.

Cons

It's growing fast but still a small team, so things are constantly changing and it can be hard to keep up. Some processes could use refinement and clarification.

Pros

A passionate, knowledgeable group of digital marketers So many wonderful leaders on the agency side who were dedicated to coaching and mentorship

Cons

As a strategist we worked heavily on the sales support side, creating proposals that were very heavy with research and insights. We gave away a lot of expensive information to prospects for free at the urging of the sales team, and it was frustrating when much of our efforts didn't result in closed deals. It's unfortunate that McClatchy didn't see the value in the agency structure and offering

Pros

Competitive bonus - can take a long time to pay out. Great role - but management values sales over media strategy. Overall great people to work with. Can work from home whenever you want within reason.

Cons

Owned by a newspaper co. that is set in its ways. Benefits are mediocre. PTO is not great. Low cost of living raises. Poor work/life balance. Impossible to get proper equipment from IT. Not much career development or time to meet with managers. Low opportunity for feedback in these areas. We need more competitive benefits to recruit top talent in the industry.
