My manager made my short time at Francescas a very toxic experience. I was hired as a key holder, but I don't think I was ever properly trained on opening/closing the store much because I was always SO stressed out trying to figure out the proper procedures. The reason I quit on the spot after working for approximately 3 months is due to how my manager handled a very personal situation. My grandpa's health took a turn for the worst on a Sunday evening. I had texted her to let her her know about his condition in case I had to request off sometime during the week. She didn't text me back. That night, he passed away, and Monday morning, I texted her that I could not work my Saturday shift due to the funeral. She texted me, "5 days is very soon to be having a funeral. If I find out you're lying, you will be fired." NO SYMPATHY - just threatened to fire me! I've never encountered a manager who spoke to an employee like that. I quit on the spot and turned in my key that same day.
