Great work/life balance, but poor leadership. - Software Developer iPaper Employee Review

Pros

Competitive salary, fun work environment.

Cons

Limit career progression. Very poor management, and too many managers (as that's the only real progression step). Little to no pension payment. Product also missing a clear vision. The main product is heavily legacy, and while there's a wish to modernise, it's slow and there's very little input and ideas coming out of the product team.

Pros

Relaxed Atmosphere: The work environment is notably laid-back, making it an enjoyable place to work. Excellent Work-Life Balance: The company strongly prioritizes work-life balance, ensuring a healthy dynamic for its employees. Supportive Team Environment: Working alongside amazing teammates fosters collaboration and innovation. Highly Recommended: Especially for software engineers, this company is a great option to consider for your career.

Cons

Outdated Codebase: The company relies on legacy code that proves challenging, especially for junior developers. Remote Work Policies: There is room for improvement in the remote work guidelines. Management’s Requirement for Social Events: Management expects all employees to attend social events, which can sometimes add pressure on those who prefer to skip these activities. Stagnant Senior-Level Growth: While the progression from junior to senior roles is clearly defined, there is a lack of opportunities to advance beyond the senior level.
