Pros

Remote work. Pay & benefits are decent.

Cons

Where do I begin? Buckle up, this is gonna be a long one… I came to this company a year and a half ago with almost a decade of experience in cardiac rhythm interpretation. At the previous facility I worked at, I was highly respected and my knowledge and capabilities were trusted explicitly. At iRhythm, it is the complete opposite. You are constantly being micromanaged and nitpicked by people with a fraction of the experience you have. They also seem to enjoy making up their own rhythms. For a remote job, there is little flexibility. The PTO accrual is absolutely abysmal. I know others have had issues getting PTO days approved, but I have seemed to luck out on the days I’ve requested off. Everything is an occurrence: you clock out a minute early, occurrence. You clock in a minute early, occurrence. They also factor occurrences into your yearly review and if you have any occurrences it will adversely affect the percentage of your raise. You can be a high performing employee with 110% productivity and a 4.99 quality and if you call out ONCE for being sick, it will be deducted from your potential yearly increase. Ridiculous. iRhythm likes to tout itself as a company that values their employees and puts patient care above all else, but quite frankly, their bottom line is money. They could not care less about patients. At the end of every quarter, we are either threatened with mandatory overtime to reach their “goals” or mandatory overtime is implemented, all so the CEO can get a bigger bonus. For real, Google it. Quentin makes literal millions in quarterly bonuses while us techs who do all the work receive pennies. It’s a joke. They’ve also taken away nice incentives for the patch technicians, such as the weekly meditation, stretching and cardio sessions. Their new motto is “work faster”, but one must ask themselves, would you want your EKG read fast or read accurately? I would most definitely choose the latter. In the short time I’ve been at this company I’ve watched things go downhill at an alarming rate. They’re outsourcing everything to India and the Philippines. I’ve read other reviews where people say that management has no idea what they’re doing, but I beg to differ. They know EXACTLY what they’re doing: their end game is to outsource almost every job overseas to maximize the higher ups’ profits. Because let’s face it, they can get away with paying their employees in India and the Philippines way less than their U.S. based team. The turnover is also alarmingly high. In the year and a half I’ve worked at iRhythm more than HALF of the techs on my team have left. It is truly a revolving door. Some of the team managers and coaches are very nice, however; it doesn’t change the fact that they are corporate’s puppets. The level of fakeness is actually nauseating. There is also a ton of favoritism. Every six months or so, employees are forced to fill out a satisfaction survey. The employee satisfaction rate has been plummeting consistently, however, no one seems to care or is willing to do anything about it. Why have us complete these surveys if nothing ever changes and things only get worse? The actual work isn’t too bad. Sure, some scans can be rough and the days can be monotonous, but as long as you have strong rhythm interpretation skills and are willing to just go with the flow, the job is ok. The daily productivity requirements have never been too much of an issue for me, because if you have a bad day and fall short of your requirement, there are plenty of opportunities to make it up during the week. My issue is with the company itself and how deceptive they are. From what it sounds like from people who have been with iRhythm for a very long time, it wasn’t always like this, and that things have truly gotten bad over the past few years. If you really want to give iRhythm a shot, go for it and see for yourself, but I personally would not recommend working here. The pay is somewhat decent, so I’m just biding my time, paying off some bills and saving up some money until I find something better, then I’m out.

Pros

Great company culture. Innovative and forward-thinking company. Wonderful staff from co-workers to senior leadership. BY FAR the best onboarding experience I have ever had. Worked on the payer side of healthcare revenue cycle for 15 years - the jump was scary but I could not be more happy.

Cons

None - things are wonderful.

Pros

The perks and benefits are good enough to keep you happy but the allure of it quickly fades.

Cons

The managers are used more as supervisors and are overburdened by duties instead of being able to delegate. The culture amongst the teams can be tolerable and throughout the bulk of techs is passable at best but there is no true community or consideration for well-being even though senior leadership want to force that narrative. We are used as kindling for fire as audits pass through and then they become much more restrictive on workplace professionalism. In fact, this company is not meant for career growth or learning. A lot of the leadership have been inbred and stuck around for too many years allowing for loyalty and favoritism to decide who gets opportunities and who stays. High performers beware you will quickly be burned out of here because they will want to keep in your lane and push you back into your role. Education and capabilities are not recognized, and brown-nosing is very much the way to expand in the company. At best get some experience and then move to a different culture better for your mental health.
