Pros
The people and a few of the perks. I have to admit they do make beautiful (albeit somewhat barely functional) products.
Cons
When negative reviews about critical business practices are being highlighted multiple times, it should hint at there being a fundamental issue. Here’s the issue with management: they’re secretive, very poorly qualified with over ambitious initiatives, operates on a “make CEO happy” basis versus using organized processes to assess new and existing opportunities, etc. The MAIN reason this place is tanking in value is because of the people who are steering the boat. No one is willing to call out the existing issues and attack the root of the problem… rather management just creates new processes that seem to create a temporary work style adjustment until things come crashing down again and everyone acts surprised. I have to say the impressive part about quip is they were once a real threat to disrupt the oral care space and that’s proven by how much capital that’s been raised (especially by a hardware company). However, it’s more impressive to see how quickly they’ve destroyed all that equity and potential for growth by having a team that leads but is not willing to take feedback and actually use their own sense to learn how to adapt.
