Toxic workplace culture

Pros

learning opportunities within an interesting industry

Cons

As a company who is trying to crack organizational culture, they are completely failing at their own, It’s toxic. Picture a senior team that is misaligned and therefore leaving mid level managers to make real business decisions that they are not qualified for. The only problem is, several of these mid-level managers are dishonest, immoral, and unprofessional. Favoritism is at an all time high, and the leadership team protects it constantly. Between managers gossiping about team members/picking favorites to inappropriate in office relationships with managers, you might want to steer clear. If you are in a minority group: run.

Horrifying place to work

Recommend

Business outlook

Pros

none at all- this place needs negative stars

Cons

Where to start is the question.... This place has a serious lack of respect and appreciation for its employees. If you arent on the list of favorites of the senior leadership team you are screwed. The Senior leadership team is driving the organization into the ground and has no idea how to run a business. They dont care about there culture and dont eat their own ice cream as they preach that they do. They promote people that have no leadership experience and struggle to actually motivate a team. They dont listen to the employees and the feedback they are given. If you read the other reviews you will see how bad the company is since the only good reviews are from the leadership team trying to cover up how bad the company is...Honestly there is not one good thing to say about the company.

Thank you for your candid feedback. Being receptive to employee concerns and consistent in our culture is vital to our success as a company, and I apologize that we haven’t made that clear. Mutual respect in the workplace is our top priority, our managers are truly committed to this and any lapse here is unacceptable. We take all feedback seriously, and I appreciate your taking the time to share your experience in detail. Please feel free to send me a message directly at dcfeedback@energage.com or use our Connect feedback service if you have any additional details to provide. Sincerely, Doug Claffey CEO

Pros

9-5 job - leave work behind at the end of the day. The company has a good work/life balance. Employees are not expected to work outside of work. There are many social activities and employees are highly encouraged to participate even if it means taking them away from work responsibilities. 90% of the co-workers are phenomenal people, honest, down to earth and very helpful.

Cons

Employees are treated like children and meant to be seen not heard. Managers are a bit full of themselves and do not value the opinions of employees even though all-hands meetings are common. The "sales" side of business is the hardest department to work in because there's a "means girls" mentality that starts at the top. The CEO is passive aggressive. He continuously asks questions as if he is open to the answer but employees know that they have to answer the way he wants otherwise risk losing their job. As an example, check out the bad employee review from February. Following the review, the rest of the employees were asked how they felt about the review and their answers were posted on Glassdoor. Do you think any employee felt safe giving an honest response?
