35 hour week, good for semi-retired or low level entrance.

Cons

Silo and selfish culture, micro-managers (some with inferiority complex), middle management are clueless, over promise to the Board. No career progression. Depressing to see some colleagues are overworked, some are there to watch Youtube to fill the day.

The majority of the staff are nice. The office is clean, modern and in a great location. The building itself has great end of trip facilities and fitness classes. Progressive policies around work-life balance. Progressive inclusion and diversity policies. Mental health is valued. A lot of effort is being put into creating a positive culture and working environment.

Cons

Ugly background politics. Visionless leadership. Mismanaged priorities. Massively siloed. Rewards based on time-served rather than merit. Innovation is impeded by bureaucracy. Very hierarchical. Keeping up an appearance of 'nice' is seen as more important than doing your job competently. Too many cooks resulting in dreaded 'design by committee' outcomes.
