Good culture and people. Friendly environment. Centrally located.
Cons
As a board member, there is a lots of flying to visit stakeholders throughout Canada. I guess this is a con if you have kids. or a Pro if you like travelling and seeing lots of places.
- Engineers Canada has created a very welcoming environment. While I was only there for a very short time, everyone was always kind to me and ready to provide me with support whenever it was needed.
- Since my position required me to work with many different departments within the company, my supervisors set aside time each week to check in and make sure I was comfortable with the work I had been assigned.
- The office is very clean and you have access to all basic kitchen amenities.
- Office events are open to the intern for participation (ex. the annual volunteer day)
Cons
- There is only one intern each summer and it is unlikely you will receive a contract extension.
- If you are looking for a hands on engineering position, this is not the position for you.
