Nice Idea, Poor Execution

Pros

It can be easy to build strong friendships when you're all on the same sinking ship together.

Cons

There is a top-down communication problem, which can leave a lot of individuals (and departments) underwater. The hardest workers are the ones hit with blame when things go wrong, and things go wrong a lot because people (including management) aren't being held accountable for their work. I wouldn't recommend this job, unless you are ok with picking up others' slack, working way over 40 hours a week, and getting very little guidance, praise, or communication from management.

Pros

-The people who work here will become your friends -You can leave for lunch and leave at 5 pm every day

Cons

-You become friends with your co workers because you realize how crazy it is -You can leave at 5 pm and leave for hours at lunch because management is barely present and no one will stop you -Because management is barely present, when they are, there is a lot of unwarranted stress since they don't know what is going on. -It's about the bottom line,-which is fine, it's a business-to a point where their business practices can feel unethical and nepotistic. This again, is fine, because they are a business...but they love to tout the "we're doing this for the causes" thing when in fact the company just feels like a bank roll for the owners/their friends (management).

An intern and outsider (sort of)

Pros

One of the best things about working at Enviro is the people. You'll get to work with good people who believe in their work. They are working hard to do good. If you put yourself out there and make what you want known, people will give you the work. The XM team also is great. They do good work and from what I've seen, bring in most of the company's money.

Cons

Unfortunately, a lot of those good people leave, and even the stalwarts have left recently. It casts a gloom over the whole office. There seems to be an inordinate amount of churn, even for this industry. Deadlines don't apply. They shift with alarming regularity and people have even come to expect it. This isn't fair to anyone. There seems to be a lack of trust both up and down. It makes it difficult for any mentorship opportunities and sometimes leads to treatment of employees that made me (an intern and outsider) uncomfortable.
