Pros
The ENC is simply amazing at environmental education, which is pretty ideal considering that's their mission! I have listened to and watched other organizations try to do what the ENC does, and no one has ever come close. Staff here are so passionate about nature and education, and it shows in every type of program they do--from teaching school groups, to nature camps, and to scout programs and beyond. In addition to their passion for nature and education, ENC staff are also professional, well-organized, and great at creating and planning activities and events. And I feel confident in saying this because after working other places besides the ENC, my other coworkers have been nowhere near as professional, successful, and just plain good at what they do as at the staff at the ENC.
Cons
1) The pay is on the low side, but people who work in this field do it for the passion.
2) It can be hard to move up because positions usually only open up when someone leaves. That's how it usually is with small non-profits.
