Pros

It allows you to travel to different cities around the US. They provide living arrangements and meals(sometimes) for each site. Co-workers are very nice and fun to be around. Negotiable pay because they are desperate for employees

Cons

Extreme lack of leadership and organization. Does not pay on time. Work 12 to 16 hour works days with no breaks. You may have to track your work hours on a sheet of paper because they forgot to give you access to the database to log your hours properly. No work life balance. You will rarely get an opportunity to explore the city. Does not keep track of reimbursements.

Pros

Great pay for the number of days worked

Cons

You will work for every penny, most likely below minimum wage if you're a salaried Advisor once you factor in 16 hour days. My biggest advice is BE A SET TEAM MEMBER!!!! SET team gets hourly pay which adds up to way more $ in the long run once you factor in overtime which only the hourly employees get.

Pros

Constantly working with kids and many of the co-workers are great. Travel benefits are excellent as you get a day before and after your week long session to explore the new city you are in. Get to make an impact on kids who are very passionate about learning.

Cons

OVERWORKED AND UNDERPAID. Overall, program support gets less than minimum wage, and we work from 7:30 a.m to 11 or 12 p.m on most days. Exhausting, not enough breaks. Expected to pick up the slack of several other co-workers, including management.

Envision Experience Response

Our seasonal staff positions are very demanding, and it is easy to become overwhelmed if you don't have a great team behind you. We understand that, and we're sorry if you felt that your fellow staff and Managers did not support you to the furthest extent. We're always working to build cohesive teams to make your summers more engaging & enjoyable, and will continue to try to find ways to ensure a more equitable distribution of responsibilities. The work our staff does for our scholars is invaluable and if given the opportunity to work with us again, we hope you'd find your experience markedly different.
